Spellman Ave. to undergo reconstruction (click here for the story.)

This is one improvement that has been a long time coming. I drive on Spellman Ave. every day, and I am constantly swerving to avoid pedestrians walking their dog's, joggers, and people just out walking.

These sidewalks and ADA ramps will be a great improvement to Spellman Ave. and I thank the City for filing the grant.

Now as to our portion of the bill, well it's over $368,800.00 ! Now I am not complaining about that part, but I sure wish (and I bet the BOA does too) that we wouldn't have spent the $150,000.00 on the bridge to nowhere (White Cliff Park) that Alderman Foote championed earlier. That bridge was "so important" in case we ever have a "canopy fire" in the trees below the very small creek flowing through that part of the park (where no-one goes anyway, and the Fire Chief admits they can't put out.)

As usual in the case of the "Bridge to Nowhere" it's our money the BOA is spending, and wouldn't it be nice if we had that in reserve to end the Prop. "S" tax, and do the Spellman project ? Ladies and gentlemen, elections are very important to say the least ! We have one coming up in April, so what do you want for Crestwood, "tax and spend," or "fiscal responsibility ?" It's your choice this time out, and remember your vote WILL set the course for Crestwood, so please VOTE !

One of ours is gravely ill, and we wish her a full recovery.

It has come to my attention that ms. Susie Sutton has fallen very ill, and IS STILL in the Hospital (we were told she left on 3/13/10.) I received this post below from Ms., Mary Wheat that set's the record straight. I appreciate Ms. Wheat taking the time to write this, and I shall bow to her knowledge as she is a long time friend of Ms. Sutton.

"I have been told I need to come on here and read the posts and set the record straight. So I will: Suzie is in the hospital fighting a massive infection. She had surgery on her kidneys and is out of ICU. She is not now nor has she ever been at St. Clare, and she has not been released.I cannot imagine where that information came from. She is too weak to receive visitors other than her kids and a few people helping her from work. She has trouble answering the phone. I cannot speak to the posts on here, so I won't. Details are sketchy because we are not blood relatives, information is coming from her sons, so it's delayed. That is all the information I have at this time. She should not have visitors due to the fact that she is so weak.Cards are welcome, I am told."
Thanks,

Mary Wheat

Ms. Wheat I believe that quite a few Crestwoodians would indeed like to send a card, or flowers if we just knew where to send them. Is it possible for you (or whomever) to give an address to send them to so you could take them to the Hospital?

At any rate the Ford Family will keep her in our prayers (won't you all join us,) and may the good Lord grant her better health soon.

Address to send get well cards to thanks to "Anonymous

The Feral cat issue in New Jersey, could hunters be allowed to shoot them? (click here for the story.)

Well at least Crestwood (?) isn't the only place on the planet with a "feral cat" problem. In New jersey the law makers have apparently had it with people getting a cat and then turning them loose in the wilds.

Perhaps the right methods haven't been applied in New jersey, maybe they need an animal adoption program on a very large scale ? In the spirit of helping our fellow Americans I propose that we do a "lend lease" type deal in which we offer to have Ms. Sutton and the animal control volunteers move to New Jersey, set up shop, and solve their problems. This will have the added advantage of trimming our cash strapped budget, allowing her work to continue, AND GIVING MR. PICKEL AND THOSE BRAVE ALDERPERSONS WHO VOTED TO TABLE THIS VOTE UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTIONS (who are we trying to save here Chris, Alderman Foote?) a chance to hold their heads up in public again !

All in all it's a win/win situation for Crestwood, New Jersey, and the cat population soon th be decimated unless we send help soon !

Prop-S debate and vote, part 2. (click here for the audio.)

Here is where you get to hear your elected official vote to continue the tax no matter what they told you in the past ! Just listen to, "The axis of Tax's," Foote, Beasley, Duncan and Pickel try to spin the fact that it was a promise made by them to end it, but for our own good they are going to keep it.

Please pay special attention to Mr. Pickle, and Ms. Duncan who promised (on the record) to end the tax, vote for it anyway, as well as Mr. Foote, and his shadow Ms. Beasley !

Honesty ? Loyalty to their constituents ? Well No more like politics in Washington every day, and we all know what those people are.

(The next series will be on the animal control debate, and is even more telling !)

Tuesday night "attempted" smack down by the "axis of taxes," Foote, Pickel, Duncan, Beasley and Robinson (Audio is up-click here !)

What a magnificent showing by our own tax and spend crew, none other than Foote, Pickel, Duncan Beasley, and "Der Fuhrer" (Robinson) (the axis of tax's.) During the meeting the Prop "S" tax was brought up by Alderman Miguel who gave three ideas as to how to remove this tax as the loan is paid off. Mr. Foot did his darnedest to postpone the vote on this so as to not be forced to show us what he really thinks before election day. When that didn't work he tried to spin it to benefit his line, and I don't believe that worked either.

So then we have the vote where MR. FOOTE VOTED TO CONTINUE THE TAX UNTIL THE GENERAL FUND IS PAID BACK (for a loan that never happened.) Who do we see right in perfect formation with him ? Why Pickel, Duncan and Beasley, (Ms. Beasley will you ever do anything with out asking Mr. Foote first?) I am beginning to think your way out of your depth here, no? while I am at it look at the SunCrest Call, March 26, 2009 where Pickel and Duncan both said they would vote it out (Mr. Foote made No such statement at all, he just voted for it as did they. Now that said my question is were they telling the truth then, but forgot it, or have they banded with Der Fuhrer to give him all he wants and are trying to run from their statements in the Call of 3/26/2009, either way it's a prevarication of the first order and should not be tolerated by their constituents !

Another interesting debate was on Animal control when Mr. Pickel (who did not have his light on) TOOK THE FLOOR FROM ALDERMAN DUCHILD (who had his light on, to table the vote on animal control until April 13th, 2010 (after the election don't ya know) with the full blessing of Der Fuhrer who said it was his meeting and he would recognize whom he pleases, light or no light ! Once again we have Der Fuhrer (the Mayor deciding what's right and what's wrong all by himself, pathetic to say the least.

I promise you the audio will be on this post very soon as it has been requested via FOIA form, and if I were them I really wouldn't try to hold it up. I firmly believe once you hear the "Axis's of tax's" in their own voices just trying to run roughshod on US, their constituents you too will be a bit miffed ! I only hope your "miffed" enough to vote them out of office (the one we can,) and call and write these so called Representatives of the people and tell them what you think !Folks, it's OUR money they are playing with, not their's, so give them what for ! And when your done with that thank the following Aldermen for the good job they are doing to put a leash on these tax and spend "progressives."

Crestwood Courts ART SPACE wins MAXI award! (click here for the story!)

Some very good news for the Art world and our own Crestwood Courts brought to you by,

"Here is a post from the Post Dispatch for an award we just won. The MAXI Awards program recognizes excellence in shopping center marketing. Art Space was awarded the MAXI in the Public Relations Category. Crestwood Court owners Jones Lang LaSalle won the award jointly with Ryan PR, the St. Louis-based public relations agency that handled the Art Space campaign."

Excellent, we need this type of positive news concerning "the courts."

MISSOURI GOVERNOR JAY NIXON KNOWS HE WILL HAVE TO PROPOSES BUDGET CUT'S (CLICK HERE FOR THE STORY!)

"Hey this isn't Crestwood, you said it was the Crestwood independent !" Well this is posted for one glaring reason my friends (and detractors,) and that is to show the Mayor and the BOA just how the tough decisions are made!

There will be a crescendo of hoots and hollers when it comes to "pet programs and projects" at the state lever, but our Governor knows we can't fund everything (and he brave enough to say so !) Now as I have said below we are in the same boat in Crestwood, things must be reduced to insure that Crestwood survives this onslaught coming out of Washington that has caused this deep rescission (depression ?) right ?

Well that said, when do we see the type of leadership that our Governor is showing at the State level ? Your Honor, when will you take the lead brought forth by Mr. Jim Eckrich (recommended animal adoption be eliminated,) and show us you and the board are serious about "fiscal responsibility ?

I never thought I would live to see the day when a Democrat Governor would recommend cutting any program, but I was wrong ! Jay, I congratulate you, and if you have any time left please come to Crestwood and show our Mayor and his Board how to do it !

Back to animal adoption: click below to see that other communities have cut their budget, why not us ?

Well as we agonize over where to get the next few Penny's for our NEEDED (and not duplicated) services the AD HOC committee still has no real recommendations on animal adoption. You can parade wittinesses till the cow,s come home, but the end result is we can (and will) get along just fine without animal adoption!

My Lord I know I am beating a dead horse here, but I see no reason to allow this to die, and thus spend monies that can far better be used elsewhere !

What say you "committee," have you any report in our future, or do you plan to run the rope out on this needless waste until "His Honor" get's the 700 votes he needs from this group to be re-elected ?

I for one am disgusted by the lack of leadership on this simple matter, and come TAX INCREASE TIME I will not forget it (and neither will many others, remember the last 72% loss ?)

Economic development commission meeting (audio part two>)

Is it me or do you get the feeling that PGAV is running this City and not us ? As I listened to part two I got the distinct impression that the PGAV Representative was telling us WHAT TO DO! (remember they get paid whether it works or not.)

I know that these guy's have been on board for some time now, but are they really on our side ? I am beginning to wonder! Some of the ideas (Emanate domain, TIF) are not going to do us one iota of good, so who do they rally represent, and why ?
